    About the Workshop

This doctoral level strategy seminar invites students to explore drivers of competitive advantage heterogeneity among firms. Why do some firms out-perform others? The topic is integrative in that the answer draws on theory from strategic management, entrepreneurship, innovation as well as management and organizational theory. In studying this topic, the aim of the course is also to help participants to conduct high-quality case study research.

The primary overarching goal is to help doctoral students become independent scholars who are knowledgeable in the field of strategic management. Specifically, to develop new ideas and/or approaches that might serve as starting points for publishable research papers; and develop research process skills critical to success in an academic career. Emphasis on qualitative research methodologies, in particularly on case study research. The 6 times 90 minutes PhD sessions are designed to encourage discussion, where attendees will earn 3 credits upon completion.
